2013 District Student Art Purchases
Smooth Start to Summer School . . . A Self-Guided Tour
On Wednesday, June 19, you are invited to:
• Ease into Summer School by taking a self-guided tour of your child’s
Summer School building. West, East, Lincoln and Eisenhower will be open from
8:00am until 11:00am. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
• Get a final copy of your child’s class schedule, on-site.
• Make final class changes, on-site.
 
 
 

West Trojan Players Win Tommy Award

The Wauwatosa West High School Trojan Players won the Tommy Award for Outstanding 
Musical for their April 2013 production of “A Chorus Line.” Four performers also won individual 
awards.
 
The Outstanding Musical award recognizes all areas of the production as outstanding. 
Members of the production are: Adam Steffan, director/choreographer; Jason Meissner, vocal 
director; David Topolovec and musicians, orchestra and orchestra director; Rebecca Beaudoin, 
scenic designer; “A Chorus Line” cast, costume designer; Kurt Schnabel, lighting designer; Marc 
McDuffie, sound designer; and Marshall Thornton, stage manager.
Winners of the Outstanding Musical award receive one trophy and each member of the 
production receives a certificate.
 
In addition to the Outstanding Musical award, several cast members also received 
Outstanding Supporting Performer awards. They are: Rayven Burdette as Paul; Phoebe Albert as 
Maggie; Jordan Llanas as Diana; and Mary Kayser as Cassie.
 
The Tommy Awards ceremony will be held on Sunday, June 16, 2013, at 6 p.m. at the 
Overture Center for the Arts in Overture Hall, Madison, WI. 

Tosa East Players Win Tommy Award

Wauwatosa East High School theatre teacher, Tom Thaney, won the Tommy Award for 
Outstanding Direction of “Hairspray,” performed in April 2013 by the Tosa East Players troupe of 
students. Thaney also won the Outstanding Scenic Design award.
 
One cast member of “Hairspray” received an Outstanding Supporting Performer award—
Dana Strothenke for her portrayal of Penny Pingleton. Kurt Schnabel won the Outstanding Lighting 
Design award.
 
In November 2012, the Tosa East Players presented, “The Spitfire Grill.” Rose SpiceKopischke won an Outstanding Supporting Performer award for her portrayal of Effy Krayneck. 
 
The Tommy Awards ceremony will be held on Sunday, June 16, 2013, at 6 p.m. at the 
Overture Center for the Arts in Overture Hall, Madison, WI. Spice-Kopischke and Strothenke will 
perform at the ceremony.

Wauwatosa Virtual Academy Grades 6-12 Charter School

The Wauwatosa School District has partnered with Advanced Academics to run the on-line school for grades 6-12

  • Residents:  Register at your intended Wauwatosa high school.

Open Enrollment

The Open Enrollment period for the 2013-2014 school year has now closed. Letters of acceptance/denial will be  postmarked by June 7, 2013.

Registration Information 2013-2014

Student registration for the 2013-14 school year will take place at the Fisher building in the administrative offices. 12121 W. North Avenue. Enter the  building through the North Ave. main entrance. Please arrive by 3:00 p.m. in order to have enough time to  fill out registration materials.
