School Board Meeting Preview

The Wauwatosa School Board will meet for its final meeting of the month on Monday, October 28, 2024. The meeting will be held at the Fisher Administration Building (12121 W. North Avenue) in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, beginning at 6:00 p.m. and will be preceded by a Special Board Meeting - Budget Hearing at 5:30 p.m. The Budget Hearing live stream can be found here. October 28, 2024

Immediately following the Call to Order, the Board will allow public comment in accordance with Policy 0167.3 - Public Comment at Board Meetings. Please note that this will be the only opportunity for public comment during the meeting.

Following Public Comment, the Board Clerk will administer the Oath of Office to the Student Representatives to the Wauwatosa School Board.

Next, the Board will review and vote on the Consent Agenda.

Next, the Division of Finance + Operations will present the Monthly Financial Report and ask the Board to approve the following items: Certification of the Tax Levy for 2024-2025, the 2024-2025 Budget, and the Long-Range Facilities Plan.

Following this, the Board will adjourn into an Executive (Closed) Session to confer with legal counsel regarding threatened litigation related to the Wauwatosa STEM charter school. The Board will then reconvene into open session.

Next, the Division of Academic Performance will ask the Board to approve the following items: New Secondary School Courses, a New Elementary STEM Elective, Starting with the 2025-26 SY, Retire Elementary Spanish at the end of the 2024-25 SY, the final contract for WSTEM charter school to conclude in the 2029-2030 school year with the commitment to explore and propose a new charter school concept not in conflict with district instructional programming by the conclusion of the 2027-2028 school year for school board action, Retire MSTEM, Concluding with the Class of 2031, and Retire USTEM at the end of the 2029-30 SY.

Then, the Division of Pupil + Family Supports will ask the Board to approve the Implementation of Policy 5113-Open Enrollment Program (Inter-District) Minimum Student Threshold as well as the Implementation of a JK-6 Elementary School Grade Configuration and School Boundary Line Modifications in Accordance with Policy 5120.

Finally, the Board will adjourn.
