On Monday, September 25, the Wauwatosa School District Board of Education approved the appointment of Mr. Kevin LaFountain-Lipscomb as the district’s new director of buildings and grounds.
With nearly 30 years of experience in academic facility management, LaFountain-Lipscomb brings a wealth of expertise to this role. He began his career as a facilities manager in the Elmbrook School District before serving the Arrowhead Union High School District for nearly 20 years as the director of buildings and grounds. His responsibilities included overseeing overall operations, effective labor management, budget and expense planning, facility maintenance, quality control, and the implementation of safety and security measures. LaFountain-Lipscomb also held administrative leadership and responsibility for managing more than 500,000 square feet of educational facilities, an indoor ice arena, and athletic venues across an 80-acre campus. Additionally, he supported the daily curricular and extracurricular activities of more than 2,100 students.

LaFountain-Lipscomb is a LEED Green Associate and holds a Third Class Power Engineers license. He also holds an associate degree in applied science, air conditioning, and refrigeration from Milwaukee Area Technical College. Additionally, he possesses certifications as a WASBO Facilities Manager, WSSCA School Safety Coordinator, NRPA Aquatic Facility Operator, and Refrigeration Handling Technician.
LaFountain-Lipscomb’s contract will be effective beginning on November 1, 2023.
